Resident Evil 2 Remake: A Remaster or Complete New Game?
Back to the roots, we all remember “Resident Evil”, right? Especially 80’s and 90’s kids have spent a lot time with the survival horror genre back on the PlayStation 1. Personally, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I’ve spent hours and hours to master 100% of the game. I can still remember specific terrifying camera angles, when I’ve almost had a heart attack when I didn’t know what’s behind the next corner. I also remember the awesome “door openings”, “going up- / down- stairs” effects. I think, we all agree when I say, Resident Evil, was one of the best games that were ever created.
Yesterday (1st June, 2016), two developers (Yoshiaki Hirabayashi and Yasuhiro Anpo) that are working at Capcom took their time to give an interview about Resident Evil. It’s also a must watch for people that are looking forward to the “Resident Evil 2 HD Remake”.
“We know upgrading the graphics isn’t enough, so we’re working very hard trying to make a game you’ll really love, so please look forward to it!” – Yoshiaki Hirabayashi
Let’s be honest, Resident Evil 2 was a great game and I am pretty sure everyone who played it all the way through loved it. My question at this point: What are they going to make better?
I mean, Resident Evil 2 was a perfect game in my opinion. Is there actually something that should be done better than the graphics? I’m super excited to see the results. According to rumors, the Resident Evil 2 Remake will include reworked camera angles. Personally I hope not, as the camera angles in the original helped create some of the scariest moments in the game. We’ll just have to wait and see what they cook up in that lab. As game makers, Capcom has come a long way in the future, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt.
What do you guys think? What is your opinion about the Resident Evil 2 Remake? What could have been better in Resident Evil 2? I’m excited to share some thoughts and opinions with you! WE DO IT!
