After buying a GTX 1080 and handing down my old 970 to my second PC, I discovered a good deal on Amazon to purchase a used 970 for $160. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try out SLI for the first time and thought it would be a fun idea to put two 970s up against a single 1080. Here are the results. More benchmarks to come in the future.
Recently I upgraded virtually everything in my PC, from the mobo, processor, psu, gpu, and more, with the hopes that I could increase the quality of my AAA game streams on twitch. What I discovered was that simply upgrading your hardware does not make it so you can stream in high quality and play a game with great settings at the same time. What I discovered was that you need to use a separate PC ...[Read More]
I had to wait TWO WHOLE ENTIRE DAYS for this to get to me. Two days too long! The amount of impatience I felt while waiting for this to arrive was overwhelming. At the end of the work day, the package arrived to my office and I immediately took the rest of the day off, went upstairs to my living area and made this unboxing video. Nearly 3 weeks ago I finally conjured the courage to purchase a GTX 1080 on Amazon. On top of that, I decided to upgrade my motherboard, CPU, PSU, and tower to be more up-to-date with the times. It was a very s...[Read More]

Modding N64’s is a new thing I have noticed around the web lately. N64’s are actually quite simple in design, so it only makes sense. With all the Raspberry Pi projects and tutorials floating around, it was only a matter of time until modding N64’s became a thing. Check out some of these designs people have come up with. Take a look at CPS2’s vision of the perfect N64.
Youtube user CPS2 has created arguably the most visually pleasing and elegant custom N64 the world has ever seen. Using a minimalist style, CPS2 has removed power and reset buttons, minimized controller ports to one (with an adapter port in the back that allows more controllers), a crackled gold/silver finish, moved power light, backlit console logo and remote controlled power and reset. See for y...[Read More]

As a PC and old school console gamer I have a special place in my heart for both realms of gaming. In my later years however, I have drifted more so into PC gaming as there is not much that differentiates consoles from computers besides graphics and computing power, pricing and proprietary games. I choose functionality and power. Emulating just about any console game from the PS2 and Wii on down t...[Read More]
